1. CRP Levels.  What is the deal?

2. Other disease states

  1. Metabolic Syndrome
  2. Nephrotic Syndrome
  3. Chronic renal failure
  4. Hypothyroidism (deal with the thyroid problem first and the lipid issue may correct itself)
  5. Hypertension (carefully select your antihypertensive agents for patients with co-existing hyperlipidemia)
3. Concomitant medications and their effect on serum lipids (JAMA 267:7 961-8. 1992)
